Did You Know..... The Imperial Eagle made its maiden voyage between Malta & Gozo on 1st June 1958, it had accommodation for 70 passengers and room for 10 cars. It remained on the Mgarr to Marfa route until March 1968.

Did You Know.... The Um El Faroud was sunk on 2nd September 1998. She lies upright on a sandy bottom at a maximum depth of 36m.

Did You Know..... The Ferry Helsingør was bought by Gozo Channel in February 1990 for Lm327,000 (€762,000) and renamed Xlendi. She could take up to 65 vehicles. Its shape, however, earned it the ignoble title of the coffin.

Did You Know..... Karwela was built in 1957 by Jos L. Meyer of Papenburg, West Germany and named M/S Frisia II. She was renamed Nordpaloma in 1977.

Did You Know..... The Ferry Xlendi was built in 1955 by Helsingor Vaerft of Helsingør, Denmark and was named Helsingør.

Did You Know..... The P31 Patrol Boat was sunk on 24th August 2009. She sits upright on a sandy bottom at a maximum depth of 21m.

Did You Know..... Cominoland was built in 1942 by Philip & Son Ltd of Dartmouth, England. She was originally built for the Built for the Royal Navy as a mine layer and named Miner IV. AquaVentureMalta's photo.

Did You Know..... The Imperial Eagle was subsequently bought by Sunny & Mary Pisani from Gozo and was used to transport cargo and animals from Gozo to Valletta.

Did You Know..... The P29 Patrol Boat was sunk on 14th August 2007. She lies upright on a sandy bottom at a maximum depth of 37m.

Did You Know..... Rozi was sunk on 10th September 1992. She lies upright on a sandy bottom at a maximum depth of 36m.

Did You Know..... The Xlendi Ferry had its fair share of mishaps, it sustained considerable damage in 1992 when it ran aground at Comino. Only one of 42 cars was slightly damaged. In 1995 she hit the quay at Mgarr, sustaining minor damage. In June 1999 a small fire broke out on deck.

Did You Know..... Nordpaloma (Karwela) came to Malta in 1986 and was owned by Comino Marina LTD till about 2002. She was renamed Karwela in 1987.

Did You Know..... Miner IV (Cominoland) was Acquired by Zammit & Sons Ltd, Malta in 1966 and renamed Minor Eagle. She was converted to a ferry and provided ferry services between Valletta and Comino.

Did You Know..... In 1972 Rossgarth (Rozi) was sold to Mifsud Brothers (Malta Ship Towage) Ltd, Malta. Then in 1981 she was sold to Tug Malta and finally renamed Rozi.
