The Grand Tour by Johann Zoffany. Aristos went off being tourists around the Continent when young men - to see the world and sow their wild oats. Out of sight out of mind was very much the case with these young chaps! They returned home after 2 or 3 years of travel with their carriage allowance maxxed out! With statues, paintings, furniture etc. Many spent the rest of the lives cataloging their youthful spoils and talking about old times with chums. Like this lot shown here.
