I’ve painted a few scallops in the last couple of years and this top tip really only occurred to me when painting the most recent yellow scallops. I’ve always just used a normal pencil to draw the scallops, but found I could often still see the pencil line even after painting. So when I caught sight of my girls’ colouring pencils I had that lightbulb moment - use a coloured pencil the same colour as your paint!! So I did! And it was a game changer!!
