Titus 2:3-5 commands you to teach the younger women; not suggests, not advises, COMMANDS. If you aren’t helping a young girl at your congregation through her Christian walk, why aren’t you? I know several women older than me who have greatly encouraged and stirred me up to great works. Some of them are the reason I want to be a teacher and a missionary when I finish college, and they’ve instilled this want to do big things inside of me just from a few kind words of encouragement and kindness. "Is Christianity sometimes hard? Absolutely! Do those around us sometimes criticize us and think we are crazy? Yes! But we know the end of the story! We know that Jesus has already been victorious! We know that Satan has no power except the power that we give him! We know the eternal blessings that wait for us if we live a life faithful to the teachings of Christ! So then how is it logical to take the easy way now, and play for the losing team? We all know how important prayer is to the Christian. Without it, we lose half of our communication with God, and we also hinder the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives (Romans 8:26). This means that not only do we need to be sure we are making a conscious effort to "pray without ceasing" (I Thessalonians 5:17), but we need to make sure that there is nothing in our life that is hindering our prayers. Sin, selfishness, doubt, and a bad attitude can all come between us and our communication with Romans, Prayers, Pray Without Ceasing, Bible Truth, Christian Living, Verses, Prayer, Romans 8, Pray

The hard truth is that as a result of our being fallible human beings we will inevitably be offended by our brethren at some point or another. Galatians 6:1 and Matthew 18:15 clearly teach that our brethren are to come to us when there is a concern about our Christian lives, and since none of us are perfect if our brethren truly love us they will come to us with a concern at some point. Often when we read this passage, we decide that in order to follow the command, we'll just keep our complaints to ourselves. That's not what Paul is getting at, though. The fallen have turned their backs on God, and therefore our relationship with them has changed. The Scriptures make it clear that they are no longer our dear brother or sister, but yet not an enemy either. Our job is to keep our relationship as one of admonishment, which means, "to strongly warn, rebuke, exhort." If we continue in a friendship with them as if nothing is different, I feel we are doing a disservice to the Word of God. How could this lead to shame or godly sorrow by the fallen? We must remember that the job of our preachers, elders and teachers is not to make us feel good; it is to correct us and to help us become better Christians.  Paul tells Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:24-26 that "The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the Lord, Repentance, Gentleness, New Testament, Sermon

As Christians, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and we know that our salvation lies in Him; therefore, we are a step ahead of these Jews. But is that the depth of our relationship with Him? Did we search the scriptures deep enough to find salvation and stop? Have we truly "come to Jesus," meaning to STRIVE to be like Him? He goes on inJohn 8:31, 32, "If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
