Static electricity is the result of a build-up of electric charge in an object. When a balloon is rubbed on a piece of wool or your hair, it picks up electrons and becomes negatively charged. In this experiment, we make the paper move by attracting it to the charged balloon. This is a fun experiment because kids LOVE to see how much of their hair they can stand up using the balloon! #STEM #homeschool #science #preschool Balloon Activities For Preschoolers, Balloon Static Electricity Experiment, Science Experiments With Balloons, Balloon Steam Activities, Electricity Preschool Activities, Electricity Themed Party, Balloon Experiments For Kids, Static Electricity Experiments For Kids, Rainbow Experiments

Cynthia on Instagram: "Static Electricity Experiment 🧪 🎈 How cool!! We will be doing a week full of experiments with static electricity so follow us to stay tuned! You need: - 1/4 cup corn starch - 1/4 cup vegetable oil - balloon Mix the corn starch and oil to make a goop like consistency. Then rub the balloon on your hair or cloth, place a spoonful of goop near the balloon and watch it jump on the balloon 🤭 Explanation: When you rub the balloon on your hair, electrons from the molecules in your hair rub off onto the balloon. This gives the balloon a negative charge, and it is attracted to the positive charges within the goop, specifically within the cornstarch. #scienceforlittles #scienceexperiment #scienceiscool #scienceexperimentsforkids #scienceathome #scienceactivities #stem Balloon Experiments For Kids, Ballon Experiment, Static Electricity Experiments For Kids, Balloon Activities For Kids, Easy Experiments For Kids, Static Electricity Experiments, Balloon Science Experiments, Electricity Experiments, Balloon Experiment
