✅ Standing figure-4 stretch 

✅ Standing hamstrings stretch 

✅ Staggered stance with your foot up (great for your hip flexors!) 

✅ Thoracic extension stretch 

For each of these moves, either keep the stretch moving or hold for 3-5 deep breaths. 

Write these down and post by your desk to remind you to do these throughout the day!!!

Forward hips could be the culprit! This position limits hip extension, forcing your low back to compensate and those erector muscles to overwork. 🚫

Instead of the usual hip flexor stretches that might make things worse, try this simple tip:

1️⃣ Grab a yoga block and place it on the high part of your hip.
2️⃣ Lay down and take long exhales and soft inhales. 3️⃣ Let your hips roll back and relax.

The TFL can be a pesky muscle but, ultimately, it’s just a single muscle that works in tandem with many other muscles and its orientation is dictated by joint position, so just stretching it or foam rolling it won’t reduce its tendency to tighten up. The TFL is concentric when the hip is internally rotating, flexing and aBducting, but this doesn’t consider the influence of the orientation and rotation of the pelvis. So why this stretch for a pinchy hip, or what some of you may know as hip impingement?
