Industrial hotel lobby

I'm spending my first night in Singapore at The Warehouse Hotel. It's modern and new, but the heritage building has a fascinating history.

The Winery Hotel in Solna is Sweden’s first wine hotel. In addition to producing its own wine, it also operates a wine bar, deli shop, restaurant and vinotek. The setting is robust and rustic with large mullion windows and brick walls. The distinct industrial feel is mixed with the geniality of rural Italy.

The Warehouse Hotel in Singapore is a well-known landmark in the city. The taxi-drivers who picked me up at the hotel all re-lived their memories of the time when it was a popular club during the ride. In a city with uncountable hotels with more than 100 rooms (Marina Bay Sands even more than 2500!)

In some cities, the prospect of a warehouse hotel would hardly raise an eyebrow.
