I used a wet paper towel but if the surface is greasy use a degreaser like Krud Kutter. -Apply liquid wood in LONG EVEN strokes with a foam brush. I used the light wood color liquid wood. -Allow each coat to DRY TWO HOURS before applying the next. Apply two coats. The first coat will be very thin but the second will be thick and make the surface feel like raw wood. -It’s ready to stain after the two coats dry. This is my second time using the “Retique It Liquid Wood” product to give a veneer table a lighter wood finish. This stuff is great for adding a layer of real word on any hard surface that is stainable. - Clean all surfaces to be covered with liquid wood. No sanding needed. Remove drawers and cabinets as well as hardware. Tape off walls and floors.
- Apply liquid wood to all surfaces with a foam brush in long even strokes. I used Retique It Light Wood Color. Paint two coats. Wait two hours in between coats.
- Apply stain of choice. Allow it to sit on the surface for about two minutes before wiping it off with long even strokes.
