For everyone that thought we took the walls down and left 😂 if we are taking down walls and there is new flooring going in we typically get in before the flooring people and then pull off. We get back in to do the rails after the flooring is installed. This is why you may see a week or two lapse in our projects if you are following along closely. Here we took down all of the walls and created a small curb as an ending point for the flooring. We did terminate the electrical here but we can also relocate them if you like. These homeowners were brave and took the dive, making their staircase their first upgrade. Sorry to any contractors that come in after. Kate Rumson on Instagram: "Yes, it is absolutely possible to match red oak to white oak - I’ve been saying this for years and always wanted to capture the process on video to share it with you. I’ve worked on many projects in the past where we needed to match an existing red oak staircase to brand new white oak floors and it was always done flawlessly. Of course ideally you want to order the same wood species for everything when building new, but in our case we had to go with a red oak staircase because at the time when we were ordering our staircase parts there were significant delays on white oak, and we needed to move the project along. I felt comfortable building a red oak staircase and using white oak floors because I knew we would be able to match it, but I would not recommend mixi Honey Oak Staircase, Kate Rumson, Acacia Wood Flooring, Oak Staircase, Wood Floor Finishes, White Washed Oak, Hampton House, Oak Stairs, New Staircase
