The old Italian tarot designs, outside the influence of the Tarot de Marseille, show completely different scenes on the card. In the Tarocco Bolognese, we see two astronomers, apparently debating beneath a moonlit sky. One holds a compass and globe, the other a T-square. This theme is echoed in the Minchiate of Florence, where an astronomer with compass gazes upward.

And so we reach nr 3, card 4, the Empress. I chose to stick pretty close to the original for this one, but made a few tweaks again. I splitted up the 12-star crown into a halo of, well, 12 stars, and a crown that's made of a laurel wreath, based on Caesar, you know, _the emperor_. The scepter I modeled after Queen Elizabeth's scepter, and for the orb I used a S.P.Q.R eagle, because the original references the Roman Empire.
