Somehow, despite my compulsive cooking tendencies, I made it almost to my mid 40’s without making my own pesto. In truth, given the abundance of excellent delicatessens and food markets on my doorstep, I never really found the need. Until one fateful day, while embarking on a writing project, the pesto bug bit hard. With a mass of foraged wild garlic (my favourite edible early sign of spring, it seemed time to embark on the pesto challenge.
