Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here are a few ways to use those mini fly swatters… 1. Teacher (or family member) says a word. Students “swat” the beginning sound heard in the word dictated. (Great phoneme to grapheme practice) The first one to slap it gets to grab it from the table. Play until there are no more cards. 2. Play the same way but students listen for the middle vowel sound. **You can change up the game to listen for ending sounds in the words dictated. 3. Sound Circle. Lay out letter cards on the table (or use post-it notes). Students use a whisper phone and “fun” pointer to walk around the table and “whisper” read the letter and sound for each card. Keyana - Miss. Session on Instagram: "FLUENCY STICKS ✨

Fluency Practice in #kindergarten! This was a whole group activity and each student started off with a sentence stick. When the music stopped they partnered up and read their stick to each other. Then they traded and moved around the classroom again. We did a few rounds and it was so much fun.

You can differentiate with #cvcwords #highfrequencywords, letter recognition, etc the learning opportunities are endless.
