Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) is a city in southern Vietnam, known for its central role in the Vietnam War. It is also known for its French colonial landmarks, such as the Notre Dame Basilica, made entirely of materials imported from France, and the 19th century main post office. Food stalls stand in the streets of the city, especially around the busy Bến Thành market.
