1950s Vintage Uzbek Suzani Textile

This large antique Uzbek Suzani dates to the 1950s or earlier. The background color is a deep raspberry or plum, with colorful mandalas in yellow, turquoise, purple and black. Suzani is a traditional craft of Central Asia, hand embroidered in preparation for a wedding by the women of the bride's family.
