They eat juvenile rodents and cockroaches🪳 using venom and fangs. So we are BIG FANS of spiders! 🕷️ Visit us on October 30th for Homeschool Day: Spooky, Scary, Skeletons. Nothing is going to slow down this cute Education Ambassador named Koopa. 🐢 🌺

Koopa, a native Gopher Tortoise, was brought to the University of Florida's Veterinary hospital in 2019 after he was rescued by a good samaritan with a front limb injury. He was deemed "non-releasable into the wild" and came to live at the Zoo as an Education Ambassador. #naturestudy #homeschool #natureeducation #tortoises #turtles

Party for the Planet at Camp Croc🐊

This event includes: educational booths, crafts, animal meet and greets, native plants, sapling/seed take-home materials, upcycling activities, composting, landscaping demonstrations, and wildflower gardening workshops. Happening on: April 20th from 10am to 5pm at Camp Croc. Located near our southern parking lots, not inside the zoo itself. Camp Croc is a Zoo Camp location. Earth Day is officially celebrated on April 22nd. #partyfortheplanet
