Spooky Spiders🕷️
Hairy eight-legged creatures may appear frightening, but they're truly fascinating beings! 🕷️ Tarantulas, like our Education Ambassador Webster, are gigantic yet serve a pivotal role in controlling the population of bugs and small animals. They eat juvenile rodents and cockroaches🪳 using venom and fangs. So we are BIG FANS of spiders! 🕷️ Visit us on October 30th for Homeschool Day: Spooky, Scary, Skeletons. Educational stations will be located around the Zoo from 10am to 12pm.
Dinosaur Summer Camp St Augustine, FL

Meet our Education Ambassador, Coffin, an Eastern Box Turtle! 🐢
You may start to see more turtles like her out searching for food like flowers, berries, worms, insects, and more. Box turtles are named because their shells have hinges on the bottom that allow them to completely close up and protect themselves when they feel scared by humans or predators. #boxturtle #springtime #turtles #staugustine
Nothing is going to slow down this cute Education Ambassador named Koopa. 🐢 🌺
Koopa, a native Gopher Tortoise, was brought to the University of Florida's Veterinary hospital in 2019 after he was rescued by a good samaritan with a front limb injury. He was deemed "non-releasable into the wild" and came to live at the Zoo as an Education Ambassador. #naturestudy #homeschool #natureeducation #tortoises #turtles
