For a natural twist on tie dying, use berries and plants to tie dye shirts, cloth bags and more. Materials: salt fixative for berry dyes (½ c salt to 8 c of water), plant fixative for plant dyes (4 parts cold water to 1 part vinegar), fabric. Steps: 1) Soak fabric in fixative for an hour. 2) Squeeze out excess water and rinse in cool water. 3) Boil equal parts water and natural dye material of choice using our guide. Simmer for an hour. 4) Place wet fabric in dye bath. 5) Let soak overnight.
