As known as giant protea, honeypot or king sugar bush. Cynaroides comes from the Latin Cynara scolymus, the globe artichoke, which the flower heads are thought to resemble. As for the name King, it’s so called because of its resemblance to a crown and it is the largest of all proteas. Each flower head consists of a domed, central mass of inner flowers surrounded by large, showy bracts. On average, king proteas produce between 6 to 10 flowers per season, but some produce up to 30 per plant. 🌸👑?
