Breast Milk Popsicles for a Teething Baby
Breast milk popsicles were my baby's favorite soother when teething. They're the perfect treat to soothe those sore gums. I prefer to use the mini popsicle molds because they don't require much breast milk and they're the perfect size for baby. • You must use fresh milk for this! You can't refreeze breast milk. • If you have silicone molds for freezing your breast milk in cubes, you can also place baby's favorite pacifier in to act as the popsicle stick. Breast Milk Stash Freezer: How to Rotate
Need to know how to manage your frozen breast milk stash? Organize your breast milk bags by the oldest date first. This is so your precious breast milk doesn’t expire before you get to use it and it stays as fresh as possible. • I like to organize mine with an old soda carton cut in half. This keeps everything compact in my freezer and so easy to grab when it’s time to get some milk for baby. You can rotate through your frozen stash by providing your baby 1-2 bottles of frozen breast milk a day. OR if you’re exclusively pumping you can choose to do one full day of frozen milk and the next day a full day of fresh milk. And if your frozen milk stash is only a few ounces, that is perfect. You are enough!
Breastfeeding Tips: Prevent Breast Milk Waste
Have you ever given your baby a bottle and they're showing signs they're still hungry? But all you have available is 3-4 ounces frozen and you don't want to waste any milk your baby won't finish? • Get a silicone mold that has markings for one ounce portions. • Instead of freezing in a bag next time you have fresh milk, freeze a couple of one ounce cubes. • Then, next time your baby is still hungry, pop a cube or two in the bottle and thaw as usual! Now you won't have to waste any of that liquid gold! FOLLOW ALONG ON INSTAGRAM @JUNEANDLILY FOR MORE TIPS!
